"No, But Dad, I..."
Henry, Its not open for Disscousion.
"But its not what I want, and Honestly.."
Henry Alexander, I refuse to pay for that god damned school. You will come home this summer, and you will intern at the bank. Goodbye."
Henry heard the phone click shut, and he quickly tossed it aside, his cell phone slamming to the ground, the plastic cover becoming a large spider crack. Hal's eyes burned as he lowered himself to the bench, tears streaking his face, blurring his vison and running off the tip of his chin. He could barley see in front of him. He laid down on the bench, using his backpack as pillow.
He would go home, and be cursed to a life of unoriginality. That of his father. and His grandfather and his Great-Grandfather. And now him.
His life was planned, and he had no choice but to follow that plan. or be disowned.

Maddie's feet, conveniently placed in a pair of low cut Converse, were starting to ache from walking so much. The girl had been walking for hours trying to find Melody Lake. Finally, she'd found it out of town. Maddie dusted some dirt off her her blue tee, then a bit off of her gray sweat pants. That's when she saw it, a boy laying on a bench. Was he... crying?
She jogged over and looked down at him. Maddie went down on her knees in the grass and tipped her head to the side a bit to look at him. "Are you alright?" she asked, a bit out of breath from the jog over. Maddie pulled her hair over one shoulder, pity in her eyes. She really hoped that he wasn't too upset, Maddie really didn't like seeing people upset.

He had heard her voice, and didn't know if he could say anything. He didn't know what to say to her. What could a grown boy say to a young lady about why he was crying.
He could spill everything. Share every aspect of his life to a stranger, or he could say nothing and ignore her completly, and ship himself off to his emotional wasteland, strpped of all feeling and thought. He decided to talk to her. What else would it hurt?
"I'm fine, I guess, just being,uh, childish."

Maddie inched her way so that she could look him in the eyes. He said he was fine, but he really didn't look like it. She sighed, standing up and looking down at him. "I'm Madeline, but you can call me Maddie. Mads works too. Mind sitting up so I can sit with you? It helps to talk about it, you know.." That was Maddie for you, always caring and sweet. She was really interested in what could cause someone who looked like they could be so strong to break down.
Maddie sat down, facing the boy. "So, what's wrong? I know that it's a bit strange talking to someone you just met, but I'm a very good listener," she said to him with a soft smile. She folded her hands in her lap, looking to the boy with care. Sure, she was a good listener and she loved to give advice, but the girl wouldn't trust someone so quickly and gush about her secrets. Past experiences forbid her to do so, made her a bit skeptical about trusting.

"My dad. He uh.. I just, would like to go to college next year, but My dad won't pay for it, because I would like to go for Journalsim, but thats not a 'proper career." Henry wiped his eyes with the collar of his shirt, and picked up his back pack,. laying it on the ground. "Life here hasn't been so easy for me latley."

Maddie looked him in the eyes. "You should go for your dreams. Apply for scholarships, get a part-time job.." she said seriously. After all, that's what she did. "Your dad shouldn't control your career like that, a person should do what they want, not what they're forced to do," she told him with a sparkle in her eye. She was glad that this was the situation, since it had happened to her at one point. Her hand placed itself on his shoulder a bit hesitantly. She didn't know why she was going to tell him this, but there was just something about him that screamed 'you can trust me'. "Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. You have to promise not to tell anyone, but I'm at this school on scholarship, I work down at Paradiso to help pay for it," she explained, a small smile upon her lips. She had to be the one girl at this school who wasn't rich. And she kind of liked it, but at the same time she wanted to fit in.

"I know I should go for what I want to do, but what do I say? Dad I hate you, and your life. Thanks for raising me, fuck you?" Henry's breathing was becoming heavy, as Madeline placed her hand on his shoulder, he jumped slightly, the touch shocking, but slightly calming.
"I just have so much to think about, I don't know what else to do." As he spoke the tears took over, and he leaned into Madeline's chest, his body shaking because he was crying so hard. He bit his bottom lip, as he realized he was leaning on her, and quickly jumped to his feet, wiping his face. "I'm sorry."

Maddie shook her head. "Just tell him something like 'I know you want what you think is best for me, but I need to make my own choices'... or something like that," she said with a small shrug. She could feel him jump slightly, and couldn't help but laugh a small bit. She smiled softly.
When he jumped up after leaning into her and apologized, she shook her head. "Don't apologize. It's alright. Honestly, you're the only person who knows that I'm here on scholarship, so it's alright if you need a shoulder to cry on," she explained, taking his hand and standing up. He was taller than her, as was many people. Maddie smiled and hugged him in a sisterly manner. "If you want to cry, you have a right."

Maddie's hug sent a shiver down his back, but he ignored it. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, locking her t-shirt in between his fingers. He laid his head on her shoulders and allowed himself to cry for another moment.
She had told him a secret. Had she trusted him enough already. Could she tell what he was like, and knew she could tell him? he waned to feel that way with her, if she felt the same trust.
"Maddie?"

Maddie hugged him, rubbing his back softly when he cried more. Then, she head him speak her name. "Yeah?" she asked. Hugging Henry was like hugging her adoptive father. She really missed her parents, even if they were only a few minutes drive away. But that was a bit difficult to do when she didn't have a car.
Maddie thought about her parents, wondering if their economic problems were doing any better. They'd offered to buy her a cell phone, and she was really curious if they'd gotten up more money or if they were just being nice.

"I'm Gay." Henry murmered, a bit unsure of where the words came from. His mind was racing, and he was so unsure of everything. But, he didn't take it beack. He just kept himself in her hug for anohter second then, pulled back.

Maddie was a bit shocked. When he pulled back, she looked into his eyes and smiled. Her face showed that it was fine with her, she'd never judged on sexuality. "Have you found that special guy yet?" she asked with another smile, one that showed she really cared. "I found my special guy.. His name's Justin.." she said dreamily.
