I walked into the restaurant, Paradiso. I'd never been here, and we'd gotten a table for two. Justin and I were going out for the second time, but I highly doubt this could top the date Caleb and I had. Rose petals, food, candles, it was all just perfect. And then he told me just how fast he was falling for me, and I had to agree I was pretty much doing the same. I probably shouldn't have told Justin I was out with Caleb, but I did. Oh well, he must've known anyway.
I didn't know why I was a bit nervous, but I was. I fiddled with my dress, and then checked my phone. He was late, perfect. I rolled my eyes and put my phone back, ordering a glass of water from a waitress whom I recognized from school. I didn't say anything about it, because I wasn't completely sure. I set my hands in my lap and crossed my legs, just waiting for Justin to show up.

`` Outfitslow it down, make it stopbefore my heart is going to pop• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Justin hopped out of his Audi TT. He threw his car to the valet, and ignored the people behind his car, cussing at him. He couldn't blame them, he had basically parked in the middle of the street. Instead he ran inside, and up to the matradee.
"Did you see a beautiful girl come in here, with long brown hair and..." He trailed off, he had spotted his date, Naomi, sitting alone at a table drinking water. "There she is." He pointed to the girl and wandered over there. He pulled out a rose from his coat pocket. "I couldn't help notice you were sitting alone. And I wondered what a beautiful girl like you was doing that for. So I thought I'd come and steal that seat. Hope your boyfriend doesn't mind." He laughed as he sat down.
He brought her hands up to his lips and kissed it softly. Then he handed her the rose. "You look, nice." He said, examining her outfit. She did look nice, beautiful infact. But he couldn't help wondering what she wore on her date with Caleb. Possibly something much better. He knew he had no chance of topping his date, no matter what he did. Justin pretty much knew he had lost, but he wasn't going to give up. He imagined Caleb and Naomi kissing, probably under the stars. They could have gone to the lake, or to the theater, or any where more romantic then here. He cleared his throat, trying to get it out of his head. He patiently waited for the waitress to come over.

Madeline had been working for hours already, and her Conversed feet hurt like mad. She sat down, just in time to be told she had another table, a table for two. Maddie walked over with a fake smile, seeing only one person there. Late date. Go figure. she thought to herself. "Can I get you anything?" she asked. When she got only a water for an answer, Maddie said it would be right there, rushing and getting a glass. She headed back toward the table, placing the water on the table and saying she'd be right back with two menus.
Maddie was going from table to table, finally getting a break. She made it back to the table. This time, a boy was with her. She realized where she'd recognized the other girl, school. The boy... Justin something or other?... was in art club with Maddie. She walked over to the table with two menus and another water for the girl's date. "Hello there. Can I get you anything to drink?" she asked, mainly to Justin. "Hey, do you go to Melody Lake Prep?" Maddie then asked, tilting her head to the side as she looked Justin up and down swiftly then pulling out her notepad and pen.

I smiled as Justin came over, kissed my hand and handed me a rose. "I'm sure he won't mind at all. And thank you, and you're still as handsome as always... What was with the hesitation there, though?"I asked. It was probably about Caleb. I just sighed, taking another sip of my water. I Watching the waitress come over again, I couldn't help but notice she was quite pretty. Then she pretty much turned her back on me and spoke to Justin, and I was pretty mad. I kept my cool, however. "Yes, we are," I said, giving her a bit of a glare.
I knew this girl was already flirting with Justin. If he started to flirt back, I'd get pissed. I didn't want to be on a date with a guy who was more interested in the waitress than me, nor would I want to date him ever. So basically, if he did, I'd be out of here so fast his head would spin.

`` Outfitslow it down, make it stopbefore my heart is going to pop• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Justin smiled as Naomi spoke, but did not responde. He somewhat adored her, somewhat hated her. How could she date someone else when she was dating him, and be okay with it. This just made him madder and madder by the second. It was a relief when the waitress came over. He looked at her, surprised by how pretty she was. She gave Naomi a run for her money, in fact, she could be prettier than her. But pretty in a different type of way. He couldn't help checking her out, and he thought it was cute how her skirt kind of swished around while she moved. He smiled at her, getting lost in the blueness of her eyes.
He recognized her from art club. Her names was Melony? No, Caroline. He thought about it. It would come to him soon, hopefully. He smiled at her when she spoke. "Ummm, can you bring us out a bottle of wine? If it's not to much trouble that is. And I promise I'll say you carded us if people asked." He chuckled and winked. When she asked if he went to MLP, he smiled again. "Is there any other school for bratty elite kids around here?" He joked around and didn't hear it when Naomi spoke. "I'm Justin, and you of course are Maddi. I remember you from Art Club." Her name came to him as soon as there was need for it.

Maddie smiled at Justin. "Sure thing, one wine. Red or white?" she asked, still managing to do her job. The pretty brunette had forgotten the other girl was there, and she ignored when she spoke. Maddie giggled when he said the school was for bratty elite kids. Considering she wasn't exactly elite, waiting tables for money to make it by. Maddie blushed softly when he remembered her name.
"Oh, I knew I recognized you! It's nice to see you Justin." Maddie had a slight blush upon her cheeks, smiling softly. She wrote down the order of wine. "I'll be right back with the wine and your glasses," she explained, smiling to Justin one more time and turning on her heels. She headed back to the kitchen, taking some food to another table before heading back for the wine, ice bucket, ice, and glasses.

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ I rolled my eyes when the waitress AND Justin ignored me. I was really tempted to tell her to only get it for one because I was leaving, but decided against it. I was relieved when my cell phone played 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay, it meant Claude was calling. I flipped open my phone and held it to my ear. "Bonjour?" I said, then heard sobs as Claude said hello and immediately knew something was horribly wrong. "Excuse me," I said, but then mumbled under my breath, "But you don't seem to care if I'm here or not anyways."
I stood up and rushed over to a corner where nobody was sitting. "Claude ? Qu’est-ce qui ne va pas?... Quoi?!" I was shocked as Claude explained Mamma had run off with some Greek pool guy and gotten herself pregnant, Papa was cheating on Mamma with our maid, and now my parents were getting a divorce. I tried my best not to start crying, but I could feel the tears appearing in my eyes as I blinked them back. Immediatley I wanted to be with Caleb or Justin. Then I looked up to see Maddie over flirting with Justin, and it all turned to anger. I told Claude I'd call him later, after consoling him of course, and clicked the phone shut.
I walked over to the table, trying not to show that I was close to tears, though I failed miserably. I bent down and picked up my purse. "Get me two pieces of your chocolate cake and leave them at the cashier, takeout," I snapped at the waitress, "Now." I was definitley going to need my chocolate tonight. I put my cellphone into my purse, I was a bit disoriented right now, and then shakily took a sip of my water. I slipped the clip out of my hair, placing it in my bag and letting my hair down loose as I ran a hand through it to make sure there weren't any knots. Then I pulled out my wallet and started rummaging through it for enough money to pay for the cake, all the while not looking at Justin. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------

`` Outfitslow it down, make it stopbefore my heart is going to pop• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Justin smiled when she asked what kind of wine they wanted. "Whatever you suggest." He gazed into her eyes before talking some more. After making fun of the school and watching her blush, he started blushing. Was she blushing because they went to school together? She snapped out of it, as he heard one of his favorite songs playing. It was Naomi's phone. He had foregotten she was there. He watched as she got up and went into the corner. He felt terrible.
He had time to focus when Maddi left. He watched as Naomi came back, looking really sad. And then she looked really mad. He had no clue what he did wrong, he just talked to the waitress who happened to go to school with them. He stayed quiet as she yelled at the waitress before speaking. "Whats wrong?" He was getting mad at her being jealous. He didn't think he could deal with it. He had enough jealousy on his own. When she started trying to find money, he took out his wallet and handed her a fifty. "Are you planning on telling me where your running off to?" He laughed, a quizical look on his face.

Maddie came back with the red wine, seeing the girl angry and sad at the same time. She bit her lower lip when she was snapped at, but she wrote it down. "Yes, Miss." Maddie hated having to be so nice to someone who just snapped at her. But it was either be nice or be fired, and she couldn't lose this great paying job. She looked to the girl and walked off without looking toward Justin again. Justin and his date's table was her last table for the night, and the other waitress was already there, serving a group at one of the tables Maddie had bussed off.
Maddie put the two pieces of cake on take out. "Give this girl the buy one get one free deal, she looked upset," Maddie told the girl working the cashier. The other girl, who was around twenty, had been Maddie's first friend here. She asked if Maddie was off shift yet, and Maddie explained that she had one table left, looking over to see Justin with the girl. She'd wait until the girl was leaving before going over to talk to Justin, ask what the matter was and how sorry she was if it was her fault. Maddie took a deep breath, getting herself a piece of banana cream pie and sitting behind the counter with Angie, the other girl.

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ I looked up at him, trying to keep the tears from falling from my eyes. I looked down at his hand and the money he offered, then back at my purse and continued until I pulled out the amount of money I needed. "What's wrong? Hmm, let me see. Well, I just got completely ignored by my date while he was flirting with a waitress, a guy who I thought was better and that I was most likely going to choose. I got a call from my brother, who I can't be with because I'm on a totally different continent, and he was balling his eyes out. And oh yes, he called to tell me my father is sleeping with our maid and my mom ran off with some fucking Greek asshole and got herself pregnant, and now they're getting a divorce!" I didn't care if I was making a scene, I was too upset to care.
I took another sip of my water then set the glass down, then picked up my bag and put it over my shoulder. "You know, I'm so glad that Maddie girl came along, because if I had come across that after I had chosen you, oh you'd be in for a world of hell. And I'm so glad I didn't choose you because now I see you're just another asshole who has a wandering eye and a very short attention span. So, I'm going to go home, pack my things, and find a new roommate in the morning. And then I'm going to find Caleb." I spun on my heels, heading towards the cashier and paying for my cake before walking out the door.
The night air was chilly, and I would've normally wanted my coat, but my mind was a little too pre-occupied. As I walked down the streets under the lamppost, I slipped my cake container into my bag and crossed my arms. Then, I started to let the tears fall, and I just shook my head. How could I have been so stupid to think everything would be okay? I lifted a hand to my face to wipe off some tears, but it was no use. I let my hand go back into place as I walked faster, wanting to just get back to the school and cry. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------

something about you is so addictive
i should have know better than trying to let you go Caleb walked off of the path he'd been following through the park. The entire time he'd been thinking about Naomi. He reached the sidewalk, strolling onto it casually through a group of guys who looked around fifteen. Caleb saw Paradiso, which- if he remembered right- was where Naomi was with Justin. He hadn't intentionally gone that way, but he didn't dare turn around and go back to school. That's when he noticed a girl in a white dress, about the right height to be Naomi. It wasn't until he got about ten feet from the girl that he noticed it was Naomi. Was she crying? "What the hell did Justin do?" he asked under his breath, jogging over to her.
He was wearing a black tee with an unbuttoned blue button-up shirt over it and a pair of worn jeans. Along with that the pair of black and blue Nike's he'd worn to the pool when he'd met up with Naomi. Caleb went up to Naomi and walked along side with her, speaking almost right away. "Amour, what's the matter?" he asked in he sweet, caring tone. He was worried, and willing to go beat the hell out of Justin. Except he doubted he could since Justin had the height advantage and Caleb was way too worried about Naomi to hurt anyone at all. He put his arm over her shoulder, rubbing her arm softly with his thumb.

`` Outfitslow it down, make it stopbefore my heart is going to pop• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Justin watched as Maddi walked away, after Naomi was a total jerk. "You know, you could have been a bit nicer, she didn't do anything." He listened as she yelled at him, completely oblivious to what was going on. He sat there, completely dumb founded as she ran out, almost in tears. He wasn't flirting with Maddi, he was being friendly. Sure he had wanted to, but he didn't. He looked out the window, and as surely as she said, he saw Caleb jogging over.
He sat there watching him move closer to his former girl friend, if that is what you would have called them. Boy friend and girl friend. He leaned over and, while resting his elbow on the table, put his face in his hands. He sighed, realizing that he lost the perfect girl, so he thought.

Maddie watched as the girl stormed out, glad that she'd been behind Angie. She felt bad, especially after she saw another boy run up to her. Was that Caleb Julian? Wow, this girl must be high ranked to even have a shot at Caleb. Maddie had tried that once, and it didn't work too well. Sure, Caleb and her got along, but when Caleb found out she was an artsy and practically obsessed with taking photos everywhere she went, he told her that it was over. Yes, the poor (sure it's a secret), artistic girl and the perfect footballer. It even shocked Maddie to think about it. So, she changed her mind's subject, worrying about Justin sitting at the table alone.
Sure enough, Maddie stood and saw Justin with his face in his hands. He looked frustrated, but she'd go over anyway. Maddie went over to the table, taking the girl's seat across from him. "Does she go to MLP? I haven't seen her around.. I'm sorry if I caused that scene, you know. Are you alright, Justin?" she asked sweetly. Maddie had always been the caring girl, which is why her and Caleb got along so well. He was the only person she truly trusted, for now. Maddie propped her elbow on the table, her hand palm up, and rested her chin in her palm. She couldn't help but think this was mainly her fault. But mystery girl did seem a bit upset about something else. And she wasn't about to get in the middle of that part.
